Nvidia Profiling support

Hi,

Does Lambda currently have any support or plan to offer support for GPU profiling via nsight compute? I’ve seen a past question about this ( Running Nvidia NSight - permissions issue ). My understanding is that this is currently unsupported because NVIDIA GPU performance counters aren’t allowed in the virtual machines that Lambda is using.

This would be great for GPU developers to run quick experiments, especially for newer very expensive hardware. Other providers such as Lightning and Nebius support profiling (I frequently use Lightning), but don’t always have the hardware that I’m looking for. Runpod also has a “bare metal” feature but it’s invite-only.

Hello,

You are correct. With how our virtualization topology currently works nsight compute is not currently supported.

That said, We’re always looking for ways to make the developer experience better, including adding support for tools like NVIDIA NSight. We don’t have a set timeline for Nsight yet, but your feedback is helpful in shaping what we focus on next.

We recommend keeping an eye out on blog for any announcements:

Best,
Hayden
