Remote Desktop problems

I’m trying to set up a bunch of workstations to be able to access them using RDP. I turned on the provided service using Settings->Sharing->Remote Desktop. Unfortunately, I’m finding it impossible to use it locally and then access the same session remotely. Having connected remotely, I need to execute “sudo service gdm3 stop” and “sudo service gdm3 start” before I can connect locally, and even then it’s temperamental. I have to do the same thing if I want to connect remotely after having connected locally. This of course gets rid of whatever I had open, and I have to set up whatever programs I was using. Is there some way that I can set it up so that I can connect without killing the session each time I change the way I want to interact with it?

Have you installed the Allow Locked Remote Desktop GNOME extension?
