If you are talking about the boot splash screen. During the boot process, that is part of grub:
There are two options depending on what you want:
- Turn off the splash screen
- Change the splash screen image:
/boot/grub/grub.cfg - Another is in:
/etc/default/grub.d/theme-lambda.cfg
If you change the grub files make sure you run:
sudo update-grub
If you are talking about the desktop, you can change that in the desktop tool.
